The power of Fear

Fear is a powerful emotion. Whilst it's not apprehensive enough to demand any attention, it springs back to life whenever we face something uncertain in life.

I read an article online about making decisions. It inspired me in all kinds when I found out that the author used the factor about fear to determine whether we could take a rest before deciding on something. That is, of course non-fatal decisions.

It might be difficult to sit still and do nothing when you are desperately hoping to make a decision so that you can proceed with life. However, if we were to be in the wrong mind space then how is it possible that we could make the best decision we wouldn't regret in the near future?

"Fear" is an emotion that God has gifted us. It's up to us on how we wish to utilize this big emotion. I hate to say this but I don't agree that "fear" is a bad emotion. Whilst it does drives people crazy as it feels very unsettling to sit with fear, it does benefits us. When we have fear in our hearts, it certainly meant something in our unconscious minds. Probably it's our body defense mechanisms working its way through the undesirable emotion. It could be a bad experience or a signal from our unconsciousness that we need to be extra careful when we make any important decisions.

It's normal to feel afraid. Just like any other emotions, there are many reasons why we feel all these emotions. The main focus here is not about the fear but how much faith you have in The Creator who proclaims that He is still in control.

Another main reason why I was inspired by the online article was because it gave me a totally new perspective with regards to the decision-making process and how fear can be the most logical reason for us to take a step back before making any decisions.

I believe that when we are in the right mind space, we can make better decisions - at least one that we don't mind taking up all the consequences it would bring about.

The art of praying is to quieten our hearts and bewildered thoughts before God. It is being faithful instead of being fearful. It takes so much for a person to humble himself before someone almighty and acknowledge that the problem he is facing is causing him distress. It takes courage to admit that the decision-making is stirring up fear in someone.

But if we could breathe in and remind ourselves that there is no perfect decision and in every decision comes about consequences that we can undo. (not applicable for fatal decisions)

Perhaps when we shift our focus from the problems that we are facing and rely on His promises then it will be easier to change problems to possibilities. Just like the word "impossible", if we were to put an ['] in front of the letter m, the entire meaning to it changes drastically - as it becomes: I'M POSSIBLE.
